Job Title: Assistant Regional Distribution Centre Manager

A challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Regional Distribution Centre Manager to join our dynamic team at Alliance Automotive Group.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Regional Distribution Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing sales and profitability through effective business development, customer service management, and asset management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Development:
    • Analyse sales and profit performance to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to address them.
    • Stay up-to-date with local market knowledge and commercial information to inform business decisions.
    • Communicate range developments and performance to support sales efforts.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to identify opportunities for growth.
    • Manage the profit and loss performance of the RDC, including cost management and business development.
  • Customer Service Management:
    • Build and maintain positive customer relationships through regular communication and issue resolution.
    • Review and improve delivery service to enhance business development.
    • Resolve customer queries and issues promptly.
    • Process customer returns and warranties efficiently and effectively.
  • Asset Management:
    • Optimize warehouse layout to maximize operational efficiency.
    • Monitor stock movements, conduct regular stock checks, and maintain accurate stock systems.
    • Ensure compliance with company procedures and policies, and take corrective action as necessary.
    • Plan and adjust staffing levels to maintain operational efficiency.
    • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.
  • People Management:
    • Lead the recruitment and selection process for new team members.
    • Oversee the induction process for new employees.
    • Manage the performance of direct reports, providing feedback and coaching as needed.
    • Identify staff development needs and implement training programs.
    • Deal with staff issues promptly and in accordance with company policies.
  • Communication:
    • Respond to regional management requests in a timely manner.
    • Attend regional and RDC review meetings with regional management.
    • Escalate operational and sales issues to relevant regional managers.
    • Communicate performance and change information to branch staff.
  • Health and Safety:
    • Ensure accurate recording and regular checking of RDC equipment.
    • Conduct weekly H&S inspections and take corrective action as necessary.
    • Record accidents and incidents in accordance with company procedure.
    • Conduct random vehicle safety checks.
    • Ensure delivery vehicles and warehouse equipment are maintained and serviced regularly.

Requirements:

  • Flexible working pattern to ensure efficient trading.
  • Occasional out-of-hours travel requirements.
  • Occasional overnight accommodation.
  • May be required to drive a Non-HGV delivery vehicle on occasion.
  • Job may involve lifting/carrying/handling goods on occasion – maximum weight 25 kg.
  • Any other reasonable task as required.
