About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Support Worker to join our multidisciplinary team based in Helston, covering the West area of Cornwall. The successful candidate will work closely with GPs and acute hospital sites to provide high-quality care to patients with chronic lung disease and breathlessness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and clinically support pulmonary rehabilitation programmes, including exercise classes and education group sessions.
  • Visit patients in their homes and provide skilled support work to aid rehabilitation.
  • Manage a caseload of patients, implementing agreed management/care plans and reporting back to qualified clinicians.
  • Undertake highly skilled support work for Respiratory patients in the community, using clinical skills such as blood pressure and pulse checks.
  • Offer patient education on self and risk factor management.

Requirements

  • Experience of working as a Support Worker in a health or similar post.
  • Relevant experience in an appropriate care setting.
  • Experience of working in a Multidisciplinary environment.
  • Examinations taken in English Language or IELTS qualification.
  • Theoretical and practical training to NVQ 3 level, or equivalent, in a relevant area.
  • Good general education to GCSE or equivalent.
  • Hold a valid UK driver's license.
