Culinary Expertise Sought

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Runwood Homes in Thurrock. As a key member of our Hospitality team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality food preparation and presentation to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all stages of food preparation meet the highest standards for resident well-being.
  • Prepare and serve meals in accordance with the menu and company requirements.
  • Comply with Food Safety & Hygiene Regulations 2013/2006.
  • Maintain the quality of meals in terms of presentation and taste.
  • Implement portion control procedures to minimize waste.
  • Meet individual dietary requirements by following quantity charts and recipes or adapting dishes as needed.
  • Ensure a safe, healthy, and efficient working environment by maintaining necessary systems and checks.
  • Store food and other items correctly.
  • Monitor stock, maintain effective stock rotation, and place orders as required.
  • Deputize for the Head Chef as needed.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in a catering environment.
  • NVQ 2 or City & Guilds Equivalent.
  • Food Hygiene level 2.
  • Team Player.
  • Understanding of special dietary and nutritional requirements.
  • Genuine interest in working within a caring environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Satisfactory police check and check against the ISA list (where applicable).
  • Basic understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
