About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Alstom, a leading company in the mobility sector. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our rail vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding work on rail vehicles.
  • Work closely with teams across the business to support the wider production teams with ongoing maintenance and repairs.
  • Adhere to and work within Quality Systems to the current applicable standards.
  • Use work-related IT Systems as required, including Maximo to record progress of operations and status of issues.
  • Accurately report status of operations, complete Work Checklists and Work Orders with the required level of detail.
  • Report any quality, continuous improvements, or EHS-related issues through leadership routes.
Requirements
  • Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent with associated technical qualifications (ONC/City & Guilds) or recognized equivalent.
  • Remove/Replace Components (RETC 056a/b - EDS Approved).
  • System Testing (RETC 203 - EDS Approved).
  • Experience of working to procedures, work instructions, and vehicle maintenance instructions.
  • Experience of mentoring and instructing other team members.
  • Technical skills/proven knowledge in 22X train maintenance, repairs, fault finding, exams, heavy maintenance.
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn.
  • A strong team player.
