Job Title: SEN Classroom Assistant
About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled SEN Classroom Assistant to join our dedicated team at Wayman Learning Trust. This rewarding role involves providing academic support and personal care assistance to students with physical disabilities, helping them engage with the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist students with physical disabilities in the classroom, helping them complete tasks and engage with the curriculum.
Provide personal care support, including assistance with mobility, feeding, and toileting, as needed.
Collaborate with teachers and the SENCo to implement personalised learning plans for students.
Support students in developing social skills and building confidence in group activities.
Use appropriate equipment and resources to support the physical needs of students in the classroom.
Monitor the progress of students, providing regular feedback to the SENCo and classroom teacher.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with physical disabilities is essential.
Experience in providing personal care, including assistance with mobility, feeding, and toileting, is required.
Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach are key to this role.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, support staff, and parents.
A clear DBS check.
Legal right to work in the UK.
