Maintenance Manager Job Description

Mercure is seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Implement and maintain best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to improve operational performance and reduce energy consumption.
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects, reviewing and communicating the impact on maintenance activities.
  • Cover shifts as required, including duty manager responsibilities.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure quality of FF&E and plant equipment.
  • Manage invoices and external providers' costs.
  • Collaborate with GMs to establish maintenance budgets and ensure compliance of their hotels.
  • Produce monthly energy reports and records.
Compliance and Risk Management
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to safeguard staff and guests.
  • Inspect works to ensure compliance with required standards and performance targets, taking corrective action as directed by line management.
  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks within the hotels under their responsibility.
Project Management and Recruitment
  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Plan, manage, and coordinate projects and maintenance works, including budgets.
  • Produce information, analysis, and reports to inform line management of project/work progress, problems, and agreed resolutions.
  • Deliver small-scale projects (P&L) including lifecycle works, ensuring performance quality levels are met and risks are treated in a timely manner.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in maintenance is required.
  • Previous managerial experience is a significant advantage.
  • Good understanding of technical features of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
