About the Role

Cranleigh STEM, Sustainability & SHEQ Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join its R&D team in a permanent capacity. As a Process Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing and developing new technology for the manufacturing site, ensuring it meets safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design and develop existing technology and introduce new technology to the factory, adhering to safety requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to reduce manufacturing costs and enhance product quality.
  • Innovation and Technology Development: Develop innovative technologies and ensure best practices are adopted throughout the organization.
  • Project Delivery: Deliver projects within budget, scope, and safety requirements.
  • Technology Industrialization: Design, develop, and industrialize new and existing manufacturing technologies from various stages of the TRL scale.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to reduce manufacturing costs, improve product quality, and ensure safety.
  • NPD Introduction: Introduce new products to the factory and optimize the process.
  • Safety Culture Promotion: Promote a safety-first culture based on human relations and develop individuals through effective coaching.
Requirements
  • Qualification: Degree-level qualification in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • CAD Experience: Strong 3-D CAD (SolidWorks) and 2-D (AutoCAD) experience in designing and modifying production equipment and bespoke machinery for manufacture.
  • Process Engineering Experience: Proven Process Engineering/Manufacturing experience.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficient in the use of statistical software and Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, or equivalent.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and reporting skills at all organizational levels.
  • Project Delivery Experience: Experience delivering engineering projects.
  • Data-Driven Problem Solving: Experience of data-driven problem solving.
  • Process Risk and Hazard Assessment Tools: Familiarity with process risk and hazard assessment tools, such as PFMEA, FMEA, and HAZOP.
  • Continuous Improvement Methodologies: Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies, including Six Sigma and Kaizen.
