Job Summary

The Financial Aid Counselor will serve as the primary contact for students and families navigating the financial aid process. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills to ensure students understand their federal and state aid, merit scholarships, and budgeting needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance on financial aid eligibility, application procedures, and aid programs.
  • Counsel students on budgeting, loan management, and satisfactory academic progress.
  • Collect and analyze files to make informed decisions for professional judgment and satisfactory academic progress.
  • Ensure compliance with financial aid policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Exercise judgment when interpreting federal and state regulations for student situations.
Requirements
  • Ability to learn and use automated financial aid systems.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and sound judgment.
  • Knowledge of federal financial aid and state regulations.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and communicate sensitive information.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office and experienced in financial database systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience with federal processing systems.
  • Knowledge of Federal Title IV awards and regulations.
