Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Conflict Adviser to join our team at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. As a Conflict Adviser, you will play a key role in promoting effective conflict prevention, management, and resolution in various parts of the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain situational awareness through regular analysis and assessment of conflict dynamics, needs, and corresponding response.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, senior officials, and Ministers to influence policy and programme priorities.
  • Develop and implement policy, strategies, and interventions to address conflict and promote peace and security.
  • Provide technical oversight and lead technical advice into the design, delivery, monitoring, evaluation, and learning of conflict projects and programmes.
  • Establish constructive relationships with key individuals and organisations to represent the FCDO and promote conflict-sensitive approaches.

Requirements

  • Have a demonstrable track record of delivering conflict outcomes at Expert Level through strong capability in conflict technical competencies.
  • Be recognised for specialist or technical knowledge and/or skill, underpinned by extensive experience applied in practice on complex issues.
  • Have significant relevant experience in conflict analysis, policy development, and programme implementation.
