About the Role:

Convatec is a global medical products and technologies company, focused on solutions for the management of chronic conditions. We are currently looking for a Principal Human Factors Engineer/User Experience Researcher to join our Human Factors Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for capturing user needs and guiding project teams towards developing innovative solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the early-stage user research role, process, and deliverables.
  • Establishing the role of user research and education of the rest of the organization.
  • Deploying a variety of primary and secondary research techniques to collect and process data.
  • Conducting human factors applied research in the development of new solutions.
  • Acting as an internal consultant providing firsthand insights to support development and product enhancement.
  • Managing projects and processes, working independently with limited supervision.
  • Coaching and reviewing the work of colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education – Master's degree in Human Factors Engineering, Anthropology, Biomedical Engineering, Cognitive Engineering, Industrial Design, Psychology, or relevant majors.
  • Experience working with Human Factors Engineering and User Research.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience from a regulated industry (Pharma or MedTech) or 8 years of experience with User Research & Human Factors from consumer products.

Working Conditions:

Between office and home (up to 3 days at home/per week) and 30-40% travel days are expected for team meetings and user studies.
