Seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) leader to join our partner secondary school in a full-time, maternity cover role. As an integral part of our inclusive education team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for the SENCO department, ensuring the highest standards of SEND provision are maintained.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing and supporting a team, with a strong understanding of SEND legislation, teaching, and assessment practices. They will be able to drive and sustain positive change, ensuring resources are used effectively to support student progress.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious SENCO leader to make a meaningful impact, gain whole-school leadership experience, and contribute to the development of whole-school SEND policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the SENCO department, ensuring high-quality SEND teaching, support, and assessment.
  • Oversee the school's SEND provision, implementing best practices and ensuring resources are used effectively to support student progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure the curriculum is inclusive, meeting the needs of all learners.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of SEND strategies, adjusting support as necessary to ensure high standards are maintained.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to drive the development of whole-school SEND policies and practices, fostering a culture of inclusivity.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to staff to ensure best practice in SEND teaching and differentiation.

Estimated Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
