Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our dynamic team at Teaching Personnel. As a SENCO, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) and ensuring they have access to high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the provision for students with SEN, developing and implementing effective strategies to support students with diverse needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create individualized education plans (IEPs), monitoring and evaluating the progress of students with SEN.
  • Provide training and support to staff on SEN best practices, ensuring compliance with SEN legislation and school policies.
  • Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment, promoting inclusion and diversity.

Requirements:

  • Preferred but not essential Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a recognized SENCO qualification.
  • Proven experience in a SENCO role or similar position, with strong knowledge of SEN legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
