HVDC Control and Protection Software Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Control and Protection Software Design Engineer to join our team at Hitachi Energy. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for designing, maintaining, testing, integrating, verifying, and deploying HVDC control and protection application functions for safe and reliable operations of plants and transmission links.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop control and protection software for HVDC systems.
- Conduct simulation studies to ensure the reliability and efficiency of HVDC systems.
- Document and train customers on the use of HVDC control and protection systems.
- Collaborate with international teams for long and short assignments.
- Live Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity.
- Demonstrate a sense of responsibility, planning, and organizing daily work, and be a problem solver who takes initiative to solve challenges.
- Bachelor or Master's degree in a relevant technical area.
- Previous experience working with Control and Protection Design.
- Experience in design and testing of control systems.
- Interest or skills in industrial application development and programming.
- EMTDC/PSCAD skills required.
- Fluency in English is required, written and spoken alike.
- Experience in digital technology, signal processing, and control system design is seen as an advantage.
- Experience from the power system industry, such as power system control and protection systems, and automation, simulation, and modelling procedures (real-time or offline), is also seen as an advantage.
