We are seeking a skilled First Aider to join our support team at a highly respected mainstream secondary school in Tamworth. As the School First Aider, you will be the first point of contact for all medical and health-related needs within the school.

The Role:

As the School First Aider, you will be responsible for delivering first aid to students, managing emergency situations, administering medications according to healthcare plans, and maintaining accurate records of all treatments and incidents. You will work closely with pastoral and safeguarding teams to promote health and safety across the school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide immediate first aid and emergency care for students, staff, and visitors
  • Administer medications and oversee individual healthcare plans, following school protocols
  • Maintain a fully stocked and organized medical room with up-to-date supplies and equipment
  • Keep precise records of all treatments, incidents, and administered medications
  • Collaborate with school staff to support student welfare and contribute to health awareness initiatives

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for someone who is approachable, calm under pressure, and confident in handling a range of first aid situations. You will be highly organized, empathetic, and have the ability to build strong rapport with young people. Discretion, accuracy in record-keeping, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Valid First Aid at Work qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience in a first aid or healthcare role, ideally within an educational or similar environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with students sensitively and professionally
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
