University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279) is seeking a skilled Nursing Professional to join our team in General Surgery. As a Healthcare Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a supportive and progressive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review patients on admission, ensuring timely access to investigations, referrals, and assessments.
  • Undertake clinical competencies relevant to the nursing role.
  • Support staff in managing challenging patients, families, or situations.
  • Deal sensitively with patients and/or relatives/carers exhibiting high levels of anxiety or aggression.
  • Convey unwelcome news to patients and/or relatives/carers regarding diagnosis and potential recovery.

Person Specification

  • Registered General Adult Nurse with current NMC registration or soon-to-qualify.
  • Evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues.
  • Evidence of having championed diversity in previous roles (as appropriate to role).
