Job Title: Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Abbey Court School. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties, aged 3-19, in achieving their full potential.

About the Role:
  • Provide individualized support to pupils with complex needs, promoting independence and self-confidence.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), ensuring pupils receive tailored support.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Childcare experience or relevant qualifications desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to commit to full working hours, with flexibility to work in a variety of settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
  • Willingness to undergo continuous professional development to maintain safe working practices and safeguard our children and young people.
