About the Role

Cyngor Caerdydd/Cardiff Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist Training Officer to join their Independent Living Services Team (ILS) Community Resource Team (CRT).

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing training and support to staff in relation to systems, Smart House tours, reconditioning, and manual handling training. They will also be responsible for training guides, forms, and documentation of up-to-date specifications and criteria.

As part of the Community Resource Team, the successful candidate will train staff to carry out needs assessments and agree outcomes with service users and carers. They will also provide training to Carers in relation to the provision of the reabled model of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide training and support to staff in relation to systems, Smart House tours, reconditioning, and manual handling training.
  • Develop and maintain training guides, forms, and documentation of up-to-date specifications and criteria.
  • Train staff to carry out needs assessments and agree outcomes with service users and carers.
  • Provide training to Carers in relation to the provision of the reabled model of care.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have experience of working proactively with clients with physical disabilities and/or older people, hold a full valid driving licence, and have use of a vehicle with business insurance.
