Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive internal audit services to cover a full range of functions across the authority, including complex and cross-cutting pieces of work.
  • Provide advice and counsel to senior stakeholders on effective management of strategic and higher risk activities.
  • Contribute to providing an annual audit opinion on the robustness of internal control environments, risk management, and governance arrangements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide professional advice and services across all council activities.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 2-3 years' PQE in a similar role, preferably within local government or the wider public sector.
  • Significant experience in developing and undertaking planned audits, as well as auditing and counter fraud standards applicable to public sector bodies.
  • A professional CCAB, CMIIA, or AAT qualification or part qualification is essential.

Estimated Salary:£45,000 - £60,000 per annum
