The Role: Engineering Contracts Manager

About You:

To succeed in this position, you will bring a strong background in managing maintenance contracts for multiple buildings, with experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance and statutory compliance activities.

  • Proven track record of managing maintenance contracts for multiple buildings.
  • Experience in common forms of maintenance contract, including NEC and JCT, with commercial and performance management and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of contract management principles, such as Service Level Agreements and KPIs, change control, and risk-reward mechanisms.
  • Working knowledge of legislation, regulation, and compliance relating to health, safety, environment, and operational risk within a maintenance context.
  • Awareness of CDM Regulations and safe working on site.
  • Experience with a broad range of asset types, including offices, laboratories, teaching, and research facilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and negotiating skills.
  • Able to work in an environment with ambiguity, change, and evolving objectives.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder relationship management skills at all levels.
  • Ability to work within a team, plan, and manage work activities, communicate, and prioritize workloads.
  • Demonstrable analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to identify and proactively manage risks, issues, and problems effectively.
  • Responsible for monitoring the work of Contractors and taking accountability for their level of performance and success.
