We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering Lead to join our team at MV Engineering. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for leading the development and maintenance of our data infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration with our business systems and scientific data platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and manage databases and data models using Azure SQL Database, MySQL Database, PostgreSQL, PostGIS, and other Azure database services.
- Develop and coordinate project work on the Unit 4 ERP solution, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
- Line manage the Data Engineering team, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's success.
- Research and develop best practices for data management, advising stakeholders on data governance and providing a highly available, continuous service.
- Collaborate with IT support, Web, Web Development, and Science and Conservation teams to ensure data-driven decision-making.
- Comprehensive experience of IaaS services – Azure, AWS.
- Expertise with database development and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience of Azure Synapse and Azure Data factory.
- Experience with principles of continuous integration and deployment.
- Experience of using version control (Git, Github).
- Comprehensive experience of databases. MySQL, TSQL, PostGIS, PostgreSQL.
- Extensive experience in scripting languages: PowerShell, bash, R, and Python.
