We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering Lead to join our team at MV Engineering. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for leading the development and maintenance of our data infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration with our business systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, implement, and manage databases and data models using Azure SQL Database, MySQL Database, PostgreSQL, PostGIS, and other Azure database services.
- Develop and coordinate project work on the Unit 4 ERP solution, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
- Line manage the Data Engineering team, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's success.
- Research and develop best practices for BirdLife IT in relation to data, advising stakeholders on highly available and continuous services.
- Closely collaborate with IT support, Web, Web Development, and Science and Conservation teams.
- Comprehensive experience of IaaS services – Azure, AWS.
- Expertise with database development and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience of Azure Synapse and Azure Data factory.
- Experience with principles of continuous integration and deployment.
- Experience of using version control (Git, Github).
- Comprehensive experience of databases. MySQL, TSQL, PostGIS, PostgreSQL.
- Extensive experience in scripting languages: PowerShell, bash, R, and Python.
- A hybrid model of working on-site and from home/remote for most roles, ensuring a flexible work-life balance.
