About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Body Manufacturing Engineer in Woking, Surrey. As a key member of our automotive engineering team, you will play a crucial role in driving process improvements and optimizing manufacturing operations.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Optimize manufacturing processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  2. Work closely with the Future Manufacturing Engineering Team to develop and deliver body-in-white tooling solutions.
  3. Provide leadership to manufacturing engineers and cross-functional teams regarding manufacturing process and capability.
  4. Develop and implement industrial engineering tools and techniques to improve manufacturing processes.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve production bottlenecks.
  6. Utilize data analysis skills to drive informed decision-making and optimize manufacturing processes.

What You Will Need:

  • Degree in mechanical or automotive engineering (2:1 or above) or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience with specification and procurement of major assembly equipment, planning and execution of vehicle programmes, complex vehicle systems, vehicle assembly processes, body assembly processes, and identifying resolutions for product-related issues.
  • Proficiency with CATIA; 3D experience desired but not required.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing plans and procedures.
  • Flexible approach to travel is required, with potential trips to off-site development facilities within the UK and Europe.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, to all levels of the business.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills, including knowledge of 8D, Six Sigma, 4M's, PDCA.
  • Ability to think outside the box and make structured decisions.

Salary: Estimated salary range is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.
