The Inspire CS Group is a leading provider of specialist residential care, education, and support services for young people with complex needs. Founded in 2009, we have established ourselves as a quality provider, operating throughout the NorthWest of England in partnership with Local Authorities and other professionals.

Our single and dual placement homes are OFSTED registered, offering a warm, comfortable, and stable family-oriented environment for young people aged 8-18 years.

Job Requirements- A genuine commitment to the welfare of Looked After Children.
- A commitment to Anti-Oppressive practice and Honesty, Tolerance, Trustworthiness, Patience, Flexibility, and an Interest in the development of other workers.
- Knowledge in the following areas: Children Act 1989/2004, Leaving Care Act 2000, Leaving Care Regulations 2010, Equality Act 2010, Data Protection Act 1998, Human Rights Act 2000, Working Together 2013, Supported Accommodation Regulations including Quality Standards 2023, Adoption Act 2002, NHS & Community, Care Act 1990, Human Rights Act, rights of the Child) 1989, Key Govt Policies & initiatives on Leaving Care.
- NVQ / ILM / QCF Level 4 or 5 in Management (Residential Childcare) or working towards this.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Children Act 1989/2004 and Every Child Matters.
- A sound knowledge and understanding of areas relating to Safeguarding and Knowledge of child development.
- Full Driving License.
- Residential care experience or other relevant experience of working with children and young people.
- Knowledge of the issues young people have to deal with.
- Degree / DIPSW in Social Care & EDL (IT).
- 5 yrs post-qualification in a child care setting with Experience of management in residential or care setting with children.
- Flexibility to respond to the needs of the unit and young people.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ideally a candidate with good IT skills, able to write reports and very well organized.
- Behave in a professional manner at all times with sensitivity, dignity, and respect towards children, staff, other professionals, and service users in accordance with the role of the Registered Manager.
- Ensure the highest standards of care take place at all times.
- Devise and implement individual and team learning and development plans in conjunction with professional and organizational requirements.
- Ensure all policies and procedures in relation to children, staff, and others (professionals & visitors) are implemented.
- Contribute to the monitoring, evaluation, and review of policies and procedures as appropriate.
- Provide and/or ensure supervision in conjunction with laid-down standards and requirements.
- Conduct regular reviews and appraisals at appropriate intervals to monitor and address staff performance.
- Ensure the implementation of all designated areas of the child's care plan in accordance with OFSTED standards, regulations, and the child's LAC plans.
- Chair regular team meetings.
- Co-ordinate and deliver regular team performance and service reviews.
- Ensure staff team administer and record medication prescribed by GP/Health Practitioner in accordance with requirements.
- Ensure the health and safety of all young people, staff, and visitors to the home by conducting and responding to regular hazard and risk assessments including Reg 34 and Schedule 6.
- Conduct and/or ensure risk assessments are carried out in respect of any activity undertaken by the child or staff in relation to their duties.
- Ensure that all records are properly maintained in conjunction with the requirements of data protection and human rights legislation and regulation.
- Ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times in respect of organizational policies in respect of children and staff.
- Check and monitor all staff records in relation to daily tasks, housekeeping, and health and hygiene.
- Attend or designate attendance to appropriate staff members for the attendance of all relevant child care planning, reviews, and meetings.
- Promote equality at all times in respect of standards of care, staff behavior, and performance.
- Co-ordinate effective selection procedures to ensure that high-calibre staff are recruited to the organization.
- Conduct staff disciplinary and grievance issues and address poor performance.
- Ensure all administrative duties and tasks are completed according to requirements.
- Take responsibility in partnership with the Children's Service Manager/Director for own learning and developmental needs and ensure implementation of own Individual Development Plan.
- Attend supervision/consultation sessions on an agreed basis with your Service Manager.
- Ensure preparation for internal and external audit and inspection purposes.
The work of Inspire Children's Services is both varied and challenging, resulting in some unpredictable circumstances. There is an integral need for all employees to be flexible in response to situations that arise outside of this job description.
Additional duties will most likely be required to cover unforeseen circumstances or changes in work that maintain staff activity and quality of service provision.
