About the Role

The Global Credit Financial Institutions team within BBVA's Corporate and Investment Banking area is responsible for analyzing financial institutions, including banks, insurance companies, and funds, to assign internal ratings and set the risk appetite for each group at a global level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take full ownership of the Financial Program process, drafting credit review documentation and preparing internal risk rating models.
  • Present and defend credit risk proposals at the appropriate risk committees.
  • Develop and maintain a broad and holistic understanding of general insurance company operations.
  • Assess complex financial transactions and understand and explain the credit risk associated with them.
  • Facilitate relationships with key clients in CIB and Risk Client Relationships/Business Partnership.
  • Perform ongoing monitoring of the portfolio and participate in ad-hoc reviews of the sector.

The successful candidate will join a team of 16 professionals responsible for analyzing financial institutions, including banks, insurance companies, and funds. The team is committed to providing high-quality risk management services to support the bank's business objectives.
