Job Title: Clinical Pharmacist Specialist

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff in various clinical and non-clinical professions. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is a part-time role of 7 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Sunday. The salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.

The role involves working with primary and secondary care multidisciplinary teams to improve medicines management and deliver excellent patient care. This includes delivering the pharmacotherapy service as part of the GP contract and providing an important function in supporting patients with their medicines.

As a member of the NHS GGC pharmacy team, you will work closely with GPs, other practice staff, community pharmacists, care home staff, and central team colleagues to support the development and application of high-quality, safe, cost-effective, rational, and evidence-based prescribing.

You will work within GP practices, acute hospitals, care homes, and other healthcare settings to provide individualized clinical care to patients, through clinics, to improve the safety and effectiveness of their medicines, prescribing where appropriate.

Key requirements include a sound clinical knowledge, good IT skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team. You must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and demonstrate a commitment to Continuing Professional Development.

Minimum requirements include a Master's Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent, registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council, independent prescriber status, and a minimum of 2 years' post-registration experience.
