Job Title: Academic Mentor for SEMH Student

Location: Wirral, Merseyside

Salary: £27,000 - £37,000 per annum, based on experience

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate individual to provide dedicated support to a Year 7 student in an SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school based in the Wirral.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to the student, focusing on their academic and social development.
  • Create a calm and nurturing environment to ensure the student feels safe and engaged in their learning.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the student's physical and emotional well-being, utilizing your knowledge of sports and physical education.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to develop plans that promote the student's independence and resilience.

Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for working with young people in an SEMH setting.
  • An interest or background in sports to foster engagement and build rapport with the student.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish meaningful relationships based on trust and respect.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience, with a calm approach to behaviour management.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or setting is advantageous but not essential.
