About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Safeguarding Specialist to join our team at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. This exciting opportunity will involve working closely with frontline health professionals to promote good practice in Adult Protection, Mental Capacity, and Deprivation of Liberty.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide training and specialist advice on Mental Capacity assessments and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards via the duty system, ensuring staff awareness of their responsibilities in Safeguarding Adults.
  • To support and advise staff on issues related to Safeguarding Adults, including participating in strategy meetings and case conferences.
  • To attend court proceedings as needed, collaborating with the Trust legal department.
  • To participate in groups achieving the Trust's objectives in relation to Adult Safeguarding and the Mental Capacity Act.
  • To work closely with designated professionals to ensure the Trust meets its responsibilities in Adult Safeguarding.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Proven experience in safeguarding adults and mental capacity assessments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to maintain effective working relationships with multidisciplinary teams.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £43,141 - £56,960 per annum, depending on experience.
