Payroll and Pension Manager

Barking & Dagenham College is seeking a highly skilled Payroll and Pension Manager to join our team. As a key member of our payroll and pension team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions, as well as managing key and complex reconciliations, pension schemes, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee a monthly payroll of over 550+ employees, including its subsidiary, with a full start-to-finish process using Resource Link software.
- Manage all year-end processes, including TPS and LGPS, while training, developing, and carrying out appraisals for the payroll and pension officer.
- Ensure that the Pensions/Payroll production complies with statutory requirements, good practices, and the requirements of external agencies.
- Handle intricate payroll control account reconciliations, pension schemes, and RTI returns.
- Member of Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP), or working towards CIPP.
- Substantial Pension/Payroll experience operating at a senior level, preferably gained within the FE, HE, Public Sector, or complex organization.
- Understanding of payroll costing and accounting principles.
