Abingdon Secondary School SENCO Vacancy

Salary:£45,000 - £70,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire

We are currently working with a prestigious Secondary School in Abingdon who are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SENCO to join their leadership team. The role is initially until Christmas with the potential to be extended.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of supporting students with special educational needs and will be able to work effectively with other members of staff throughout the school. They will also have excellent leadership and management skills, as well as the ability to inspire and motivate students.

The school has a dedicated SEN department which provides support for students with a range of special educational needs. The SENCO will work closely with the department to ensure that all students receive the support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work effectively with other members of staff to provide support for students with special educational needs
  • To monitor, assess and report on the progress of students with SEND
  • To develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes
  • To work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure that all students receive the support they need

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teaching Status (QTS)
  • Previous experience as a SENCO or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of SEN legislation and policies
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students
