Director of Environment and Sustainability

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead AWE plc's Environment and Sustainability function. As Director of Environment and Sustainability, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the company's environmental strategy, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and driving sustainability initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the company's environmental strategy, aligning with the overall business strategy
  • Lead the Environment and Sustainability team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective delivery of sustainability initiatives
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and business requirements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the Environment Agency regulator
  • Build a team with the necessary skills and expertise to drive sustainability initiatives and achieve organizational performance targets
Requirements
  • Proven experience in environmental sustainability leadership, with a strong track record of delivering sustainability initiatives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions
  • Chartered Environmentalist (Energy Institute) and/or a member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) (practitioner) qualification
