Site Operations Assistant

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Highways Site Manager to join our team at Veolia. As a key member of our site operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our landfill site, compost, wood operations, and road sweeping plant.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Site Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the site, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
- Ensure the site meets the requirements of the PPC/Waste Management Licence, Health & Safety at Work Act, and other statutory controls.
- Liaise with the company surveyor to ensure accurate setting out of pre-settlement contours.
- Assist with weighbridge queries and liaise with internal departments to resolve problems.
- Investigate and follow up on complaints received on site and inform the relevant customer/authority of the outcome.
- Investigate all incidents and accidents.
- Ensure weighbridge operations are conducted in line with company procedures and customer requirements are met.
- Assist with accurate recording of spend against budget and receipt of capital and purchase orders.
- Experience of yellow plant and equipment, with a good understanding of other associated plant and vehicles used on site.
- A good understanding of financial requirements, including budgets and P&Ls.
- Proven ability to supervise/manage a team.
- Full UK driving licence is essential for this position.
