Job Title: Assistant Highways Site Manager

Veolia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Highways Site Manager to join our team. As a key member of our site operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our landfill site, compost, wood operations, and road sweeping plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Site Manager in operating the landfill site, compost, wood operations, and road sweeping plant in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensure the site meets the requirements of the PPC/Waste Management Licence, Health & Safety at Work Act, and other statutory controls, company policies, and procedures.
  • Liaise with the company surveyor to ensure correct setting out of pre-settlement contours.
  • Assist with weighbridge queries and liaise with internal departments to resolve problems.
  • Investigate and follow up on complaints received on site and inform the relevant customer/authority of the outcome.
  • Investigate all incidents and accidents.
  • Ensure weighbridge operations are operated in line with company procedures and that customer requirements such as turnaround times are met.
  • Assist with accurate recording of spend against budget and receipt of capital and purchase orders.
Requirements:
  • Experience of yellow plant and equipment and an understanding of other associated plant and vehicles that may be used on site would be an advantage.
  • A good understanding of financial requirements, including budgets and P&L's.
  • Proven ability to supervise/manage a team.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential for this position.
