Future Education is seeking an experienced Year 6 Mental Health Expert to join our outstanding SEND Provision in London Borough of Lewisham.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching and supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and challenging behaviour.

As a Year 6 Mental Health Expert, you will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging lessons tailored to the needs of Year 6 students, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Class sizes are small, typically between 5-6 children per class with Behaviour Support Staff, allowing for a more personalised approach to education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SEMH and ASD.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, using appropriate strategies to support students with challenging behaviours.

Requirements:

  • Must have Qualified Teacher Status (either Primary or Secondary trained teacher).
  • Taught in either a SEMH School / PRU/ Alternative Provision/ Primary School OR a Secondary School.
