Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Caretaker Specialist to join our team at Nottingham City Council. As a key member of our premises support team, you will be responsible for ensuring the security, maintenance, and cleanliness of Adult Social Care facilities across the city.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification or equivalent specialist technical knowledge and experience in a trade skill, such as plumbing, electrical repairs, or joinery. You will also possess good working knowledge of health & safety and building regulations, with experience of contributing to risk assessments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking planned maintenance programmes, including painting and decorating, waste disposal, and furniture assembly.
  • Carrying out statutory testing and safety checks, such as PAT testing and ladder safety inspections.
  • Repairing and maintaining equipment, fixtures, and fittings, with an area of specialism in plumbing, joinery, and minor electrical repairs.
