About the Role
As a Highway Infrastructure Quality Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that new and enhanced highway infrastructure projects meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. Your responsibilities will encompass meticulous site-based inspections, monitoring construction progress, and verifying adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough on-site inspections of new road construction and highway alterations to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and industry standards.
- Verify the quality of materials used in construction projects, ensuring they meet established testing requirements.
- Monitor and manage construction work schedules, providing timely updates and identifying potential delays or issues.
- Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection findings, highlighting any non-compliance or required remedial actions.
- Collaborate with the NRSWA Team to review traffic management layouts and provide expert advice on construction methods that minimize disruption to the network.
About You
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong understanding of highway construction principles and practices. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A genuine interest in learning about highway infrastructure development and best practices.
- Proven experience working on diverse construction projects, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of various construction methods and materials.
- An HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, or demonstrable experience within the construction industry.
- A thorough knowledge of health and safety legislation pertaining to highway works and the ability to effectively implement control measures.
