Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Highways Inspector to join our team at Ringway Jacobs. As a Highways Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and sustainability of our highway network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine inspections of the highway network to identify defects and ensure compliance with Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Record the condition of the public highway and provide advice and guidance to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
  • Identify sites of accident claims, check works history and specification for safety compliance, and prepare documentation for court hearings.
  • Work collaboratively with delivery teams and utilities to plan and prioritize work.

Requirements

  • Education to RQF Level 3 (A Level) or equivalent by experience.
  • City and Guilds qualification relevant to highway engineering or ONC or equivalent, desirable.
  • Knowledge of Highway Authority and Local Government policies, practices, and procedures in relation to highways maintenance.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build strong partnerships with contractors, Members, and the public.
