We're recruiting for a Data Engineer Industrial Placement to join our Data Services Tribe. As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work on projects that are critical to the success of our weather and climate services.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Studying towards a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Engineering, or a related field which MUST incorporate a placement year (i.e. sandwich course)
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, or R
  • A good understanding of data flows, data structures, algorithms, data engineering principles, and business intelligence (BI) systems

The salary for this role is £25,606 per annum, and includes 27.5 days' annual leave. You'll also have access to discounted shopping and other benefits.

To succeed in this role, you'll need to be a strong problem-solver with excellent communication skills. You should also be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be interested in weather and climate science.
