The Befriender 'In Home' Volunteer plays a vital role in providing companionship to someone we support in Kennington, spending quality time with them in their home, and engaging in activities they enjoy. This may include chatting over a cup of tea, reading books, playing board games, or simply being a friendly presence.
Key Skills:
- To be kind, empathetic, and friendly
- To have a good sense of humour and enjoy conversation
- To be punctual and reliable
- To maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Please note that applicants must be over 18 years old. To apply, please click the 'apply' button below and complete the application form. A member of our Volunteering Team will contact you for an informal chat and to explain the next steps. Before a volunteer role is confirmed, we will require a DBS check and two satisfactory references. Additionally, you will need to undertake safeguarding training and any role-specific training.
