Academics Ltd is seeking a Behaviour Mentor to support children with moderate learning difficulties and additional mental health needs at our Hailsham-based school. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a specialist SEMH school providing exceptional education and support for traumatised children and young people.
About the RoleAs a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with the teaching staff and therapists to deliver specific interventions that aim to boost students' learning, development, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in SEN and a passion for supporting children who have come from hardship.
Responsibilities and RequirementsThe responsibilities of this role include providing behaviour and pastoral support to students, taking an active role in forward planning with therapists, and developing strong and positive relationships with children. To be successful in this role, you should have a degree in psychology, criminology, or sociology, and/or career aspirations to become a Youth Worker, Probation/Prison Officer, Criminal Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, or SEN Teacher.
