Job Role

We are seeking a Technical Trainer to join our team and contribute to the development, delivery, and evaluation of our training programs.

This role is crucial in ensuring that our training delivery meets the highest standards and exceeds customer expectations.

The Technical Trainer will work closely with our design team to develop and deliver training courses and materials tailored to client needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Training Program Development:
    1. Develop and deliver technical training courses and materials tailored to client needs, including presentations, e-learning modules, and interactive content.
    2. Ensure training programs are aligned with the latest industry standards, company practices, and client requirements.
    3. Customize training content based on feedback from stakeholders and assessment of training needs.
  2. Training Delivery:
    1. Deliver engaging and effective technical training sessions in face-to-face settings.
  3. Assessment and Evaluation:
    1. Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics.
    2. Adjust training approaches based on evaluation results to continuously improve training effectiveness.
  4. Stakeholder Collaboration:
    1. Work closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure accuracy and relevance of training content.
    2. Collaborate with management to identify training needs and develop solutions addressing skill gaps and performance issues.
    3. Provide support and guidance to participants during training to ensure successful application of knowledge and skills.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:
    1. Work with the administration team to provide accurate records of training activities, including participant attendance, feedback, and assessment results.
    2. Prepare summaries on training outcomes, effectiveness, and areas for improvement for management.
    3. Ensure all training materials and documentation are organized, updated, and accessible.
  6. Stay current with industry trends, technological developments, and best practices in training and development.
  7. Seek feedback from participants and stakeholders to identify opportunities for enhancing training programs and delivery methods.

Estimated Salary: £42,000 - £52,000 per annum

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Time served trade (mechanical, electrical or construction related) ideally with a background on low carbon technologies.
  • Relevant qualifications in training or assessing are ideal but not essential.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a technical trainer or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of technical concepts and high-quality delivery.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in the use of training tools and technologies.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple training projects efficiently, with strong attention to detail.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to assess training needs, evaluate program effectiveness, and make decisions to improve training outcomes.
  • Familiarity with short course delivery and adult learning principles.
  • Experience with development and / or adaptation of training materials.
