Senior Projects Lawyer Opportunity

Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a highly skilled Senior Projects Lawyer to join their legal team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on major projects in the region and contribute to the Council's strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Line manage a team of lawyers and provide support and oversight on major projects.
  • Deputise for the Principal Lawyer and assist with training and development of junior members.
  • Provide procurement advice and draft and review contracts.
  • Advising on consultancy agreements, professional service agreements, and grant agreements.
Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with experience in construction and development law.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, such as JCT and NEC.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
