Senior Projects Lawyer Opportunity

Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a highly skilled Senior Projects Lawyer to join their legal team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on major projects of strategic importance, providing support and oversight to ensure successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Line manage a team of lawyers, including Projects Lawyers, Highways and Planning Lawyers, and Legal Assistants.
  • Deputise for the Principal Lawyer and assist with training and development of junior members.
  • Provide support and oversight on major projects, including the Glassworks, Alhambra, and the Tour of Britain.
  • Attend project board meetings and provide procurement advice.
  • Draft and review construction contracts, development agreements, and bespoke standard terms and conditions.
  • Advising on consultancy agreements, professional service agreements, grant agreements, collateral warranties, PCGS, bonds, and collaboration agreements.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive.
  • Candidates should have experience in one or more of the above areas, with exposure to construction contracts and development agreements.
