About the Role:

MCR Property Group, a leading independent real estate investment and development company, is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As an Intermediate or Project Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the financial delivery of our assigned projects, ensuring they are procured and delivered within budget and to programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on the selection of subcontractors for package works.
  • Prepare rolling cost-to-complete forecasts throughout the project.
  • Complete final account administration and manage retention release close-out.
  • Internal reporting, cost-to-complete, cash flows, project reports, and monthly project reviews.
  • Establish and develop productive working relationships with stakeholders, including the supply chain and design team.
  • Monitor cost control and implement cost mitigation strategies, assessing risk and acting fairly and reasonably.
  • Contribute data to assist with the production of a monthly commercial report, describing the position and plan for management of risk, opportunity, cost, and value.
  • Agree settlement of final accounts with supply chain packages.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor on a range of projects and values.
  • Wide knowledge of construction industry processes and procedures.
  • Technical knowledge of building materials, techniques, and systems.
  • Knowledge of Design Build contracts is desirable, with a strong understanding of construction processes essential.
  • Ability to understand and mitigate risk between the supply chain trade interface during the procurement stage.
  • Capacity to tender and procure, seeking value engineering opportunities and negotiating best value.
  • Knowledge of JCT contracts and ability to compile robust subcontract trade orders.
  • Ability to value and commercially manage subcontract trade applications.
  • Full clean driving license.
