We are seeking an experienced SENCO to join our team at Wessex Lodge School, covering maternity leave. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and review of our SEN policy and provision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the identification, assessment, and provision of support for students with special educational needs.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to staff to enhance their understanding of SEN principles and best practices.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement personalized learning plans for students with SEN.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance outcomes for students.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a recognized SENCo qualification.
  • Proven experience working as a SENCo or in a similar SEN leadership role within a school or college setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEN legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
