We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Housing Options Advisor to join our Housing Needs Service at Wakefield Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering housing options advice and support to vulnerable and excluded households.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Deliver housing options advice and support to households in need, utilizing your knowledge of local housing options, homelessness legislation, and effective assessment techniques.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including community groups, partner agencies, and internal teams.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify the most suitable housing solutions for clients, taking into account their individual needs and circumstances.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a seamless service delivery, sharing knowledge and best practices to achieve excellent outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, applying this knowledge to inform your work and ensure compliance.

**Requirements**

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Highly organized and able to work effectively under pressure, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficient in the use of IT systems and software, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Ability to travel flexibly within the district, with a valid driving license and access to a vehicle (if required).
