Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join our team at Connect2staff in the Colchester area. As a Senior Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for managing sales and purchase ledgers, overseeing credit control processes, performing general ledger reconciliations, and assisting with month-end and year-end processes. You will also produce monthly reports to provide insights into financial performance.

About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong financial background and exceptional organisational skills to work in a varied and busy role. The ideal candidate will have a 'can-do' attitude and be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis.

Responsibilities:
  1. Sales and Purchase Ledger Management: Manage sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  2. Credit Control: Oversee credit control processes to ensure timely payments from customers.
  3. General Ledger Reconciliations: Perform regular general ledger reconciliations to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
  4. Month-End and Year-End Processes: Assist with month-end and year-end processes, including prepayments and preparation of financial statements.
  5. Reporting: Produce monthly reports to provide insights into financial performance.

Requirements:
  • AAT Level 3 qualified (minimum)
  • Strong experience with Sage Accounting software
  • IT Literate (particularly Excel, including lookups and pivot tables)
  • Highly organised, with an exceptional eye for detail
