About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Finance Specialist to join our team at the Financial Conduct Authority. As a key member of our Market Oversight Directorate, you will play a crucial role in regulating capital markets activity in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gain a sound and practical working knowledge of primary markets regulation, including exposure to major IPOs, equity capital raises, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) activity, and non-equity issuances.
  • Develop project management and influencing skills, taking on significant levels of responsibility and dealing with various advisers on technical issues.
  • Contribute to the development of project plans, risk assessments, and business cases, ensuring effective delivery of projects and initiatives.
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary, ranging from £51,200 to £72,000 per annum in Edinburgh and £56,400 to £80,000 per annum in London, based on skills and experience.
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including 25 days holiday per year, private healthcare with Bupa, a non-contributory pension, and life assurance.
  • The opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team, with a focus on hybrid working, allowing you to work from home up to 60% of the time.
Requirements
  • Excellent communications skills, including written English.
  • Highly effective influencing skills, including delivering difficult messages, and a positive attitude to dealing with external parties.
  • Wider experience of capital markets, including equity capital markets (ECM) and/or debt capital markets (DCM), knowledge of closed and open-ended investment fund structures, and asset management or the broader European capital markets regulatory framework.
