Job Title: Assistant Manager

As a key member of our growing financial reporting advisory team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality services to our clients in the central belt of Scotland.

Job Purpose

As Assistant Manager, you will support the wider team and assist managers to profitably deliver work across a portfolio of corporate clients, focusing on technical accounting, financial reporting, and consolidations. This will include the practical application of accounting standards under FRS 102, IFRS, and FRS 101, group reconstructions, and accounting considerations.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting managers to deliver complex accountancy-related projects for clients, such as IFRS transition consultancy work or support on acquisition accounting and complex consolidations.
  • Management of a portfolio of clients and projects, including client care responsibilities, project management, and WIP/billing management.
  • Liaising with other departments within the office, especially the audit and tax teams.
  • Acting as a coach to more junior members of the team and participating in staff training and supervision as required.
  • A willingness to travel to client premises is required, however, the significant proportion of work is likely to be office-based.
Requirements
  • UK GAAP and IFRS financial reporting experience.
  • Experience of working in a professional practice, ideally in an equivalent accounting advisory team or experience providing written accounting advice to clients.
  • A strong understanding of UK financial reporting requirements.
  • Ability to demonstrate commercial awareness and to add value.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Experience of supervision of junior staff.
  • Experience of Microsoft Office, with high competency with both Excel and Word.
