Trust Registrar in Orthopaedics
Fixed Term Opportunity
The Trust is seeking to appoint a Trust Registrar for a fixed term position. This role is designed for individuals aspiring to pursue SpR training schemes.
The successful candidate will engage in audit activities, including participation in national audit initiatives, while also taking on teaching responsibilities and supervising junior staff. Additionally, the role includes gaining management experience related to the junior doctors' rota and developing a personal clinical governance program under the guidance of a supervisor.

Ward Responsibilities
The appointee will collaborate with the Orthopaedic team, including F1 trainees, SHOs, ST registrars, and consultant staff, to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to both Orthopaedic and medical patients.
Attendance at trauma meetings is encouraged, along with orthogeriatric and orthopaedic consultants, to enhance learning and collaboration.

Job Duties
The post holder will conduct regular ward rounds, assist with multidisciplinary team meetings, manage patients with peri-operative complications, guide junior doctors, and support the weekly outpatient clinic.
Furthermore, the post holder is expected to provide medical input for orthopaedic junior doctors' patients, offering advice and planning medical management.
Active participation in regular audits, including the National Fracture Neck of Femur database, is expected, along with involvement in teaching and training within the Orthopaedics and Department of Medicine for Older People.

Qualifications
Essential
- MBBS (or equivalent)
- Full registration with GMC
- Part 2 MRCP UK (or equivalent) at the expected start date of the position
Desirable
- Full MRCP UK (or equivalent)
- MD, PhD, or equivalent
Teaching Experience
Essential
- Experience in teaching and training undergraduates, postgraduates, and junior medical staff
Desirable
- Evidence of ongoing interest and achievement in research
