About the Role

Credit Karma is a leading financial technology company dedicated to empowering consumers to take control of their financial lives. We're seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Regulatory Compliance to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring the company's compliance with relevant regulations in the UK and Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance framework for the UK and Canada, ensuring effective oversight and risk management.
  • Act as the Senior Management Function 16 (SMF16) and perform the prescribed responsibilities of the Compliance Oversight Function.
  • Collaborate with our global compliance team in the US to develop, implement, and improve processes and policies to ensure effective oversight.
  • Maintain a strong compliance culture, focused on good customer outcomes and treating customers fairly, including creating and managing policies and training.
  • Manage ad hoc compliance projects, such as obtaining new regulatory permissions and launching new products.
  • Lead the enterprise risk management framework for the UK and Canada, conducting regular audits and risk assessments to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
  • Scope necessary controls to mitigate compliance risk, detailing requirements and managing implementation.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to proactively identify and mitigate upcoming risks and remediation projects.
  • Assess the business impact of new and evolving regulatory requirements in the consumer financial products space.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in compliance, with a strong background in regulatory affairs.
  • Proven experience as a compliance professional, with the ability to take on the SMF16 function.
  • Ability to lead projects involving cross-functional partners and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of risk-based approaches, with the ability to make trade-offs and find balance between best practices and immediate needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide effective challenge and build strong relationships.
  • Intellectual creativity and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make risk-based decisions.
